For Cypress Hill’s music video Band of Gypsies, the band had filmed the first half of the project in Egypt and needed to complete production in the U.S. My role was to design and build a set that authentically carried forward the visual narrative from their footage from Egypt. I created an intimate, atmospheric interior inspired by traditional Middle Eastern and North African spaces, incorporating low majlis-style floor seating, layered kilim and Persian rugs, hand-carved brass trays, hookahs, Moroccan lanterns, and richly draped textiles suspended overhead and along the walls. The palette leaned warm and earthen, with textured fabrics, and cushions used to soften the space and create depth.
